Description
Summary:The paper describes the results of many years of activities in the field of diagnostics and instrumentation development for large magnet systems. Extrinsic concept is taken as a basic for sensors positioning. All applied methods do not require the direct touch with a conductor and, as a consequence, magnet integrity is not disturbed. Typical responses of sensor to quench for each method obtained in the frame of the international project QUELL are presented. Both magnetic system integrity monitoring and quench detection are possible using the proposed methods.
