Summary: | This study proposes that appropriate topologies and shapes for structural design can be investigated through a computational morphogenesis of structural material topology optimization. Substantially, the morphogenesis has been motivated in order to properly describe mechanisms of natural and biological shapes such as tissues or cells. According to this concept, the numerical examples of architectural and civil structural designs for building walls or bridges demonstrate that the computational morphogenesis produces an aesthetic, functional, and safe structural design, when compared to the typical structural design. |
