Summary: | In this paper the time domain algorithm is described. The beam dynamics under influence of stochastic cooling forces is studied by a particle-by-particle and turn-by-turn treatment in the time-domain. This treatment escapes the involvement of complicated, changing frequency spectra, which anyhow are likely to be incomplete by considering the Fokker-Planck equation and its solution. Using the proposed method, a special computer code has been developed to calculate beam cooling in the time domain within reasonable computing time. |
