Description
Summary:Contemporarily, smart materials are utilized for origami fabrication to achieve self-assembly under external stimulation. This technique provides a method to realize remote control of origami structures that can be applied to a variety of areas, e.g., biomedicine and robotics. Thereinto, magnetoactive origami structures were demonstrated in many studies, including the fields of medicine, soft robotics, biotic structure. Their design and manufacture incorporate structural mechanisms, material and additive manufacturing technology, as well as control strategies. This review summarizes existing magnetoactive origami structures as well as their materials and properties. Besides, potential directions and development suggestions are proposed for researchers in the fields of both origami structure and smart magneto-sensitive smart soft materials.
