Description
Summary:In this work, we present a fault detection strategy applicable to the blade and pitch system in offshore wind turbines. First, we model the system and possible faults and propose a PI observer to identify the faults. Then, the observer is designed accounting the sensors measurement noise, and addressing a trade off between the needs of false alarm rate, minimum detectable fault and detection time. By means of a well known benchmark, several simulations show the goodness of the approach and its flexibility to explicitly fix the fault detector performance.
