Summary: | Halogenated flavonoids have attracted much attention due to their diverse biological activities and potential therapeutic applications. These organic molecules are modified by introducing halogen atoms, such as fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine, which can significantly change their physicochemical properties, affecting biological activity and environmental behavior. As environmental sustainability becomes an increasing concern, eco-synthesis, which involves the design and development of environmentally friendly synthetic pathways, has emerged as a major area of focus in the synthesis of halogenated flavonoids. This approach aims to minimize the use of hazardous reagents and solvents, reduce waste generation and improve overall sustainability. Therefore, this study aims to discuss green halogenation methods and the pharmacological properties of halogenated flavonoids. |
