Summary: | Any agricultural farm enterprise is a complex undertaking. Physical, economic, social and technological factors demand equal attention if a farm enterprise is to succeed. To be successful a farmer needs to ensure the optimal use of farm inputs to achieve high productivity. Technological developments have dragged farmers into the digital age and have significantly altered the management of such inputs. This paper considers the disruption brought about by digital farming. Major technical, legal, policy and social challenges and opportunities are outlined in the context of digital farming in Australia. |
