Summary:The article considers the concepts of "competitiveness" and "competitive advantages". It gives the summary of available competitive advantages and the ones to be formed in the agricultural sector as well as specifies the factors to influence the competitiveness of the agricultural produce. Among the priority and controllable factors (conceptual framework) which have a major positive or negative impact on the state of competitiveness the following ones have been identified: inequitable cross-sector exchange not in favour of the agricultural sector; territories zoning based on the production possibilities for agri-food produce; possibilities to use digital economy in the agricultural production.
