Summary: | Mg and La co-doped ZnNi spinel ferrites were synthesized to investigate the structural, optical and electrical properties using XRD, EDS, FESEM, FTIR, UV-vis and I-V characterization techniques. Formation of spinel cubic structure of ferrite nanoparticles was confirmed by XRD analysis. Energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy ratified the presence of expected elements in each composition. Surface morphology exhibits the formation of nanoparticles in all compositions. FTIR spectra obtained for further supportive information about phase identification and metal oxide group. Optical properties were investigated using UV-vis spectrophotometry reveals decrease in band gap with addition of Mg2+ content which also in accordance with electrical resistivity measurements. It is inferred that ZnNi ferrites with La and Mg content can be used for low resistive ferrite applications. |
