Description
Summary:In this research, the corrosion evaluation of carbon steel (AISI 1018) and galvanized steel embedded in ternary concretes was carried out with the electrochemical techniques of Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR) and Electrochemical Noise (EN). Concretes were elaborated with relation to a/c = 0.45, and it was carried out the partial substitution of the ordinary portland cement (OPC) in 10, 20, and 30% by sugar cane bagasse ash (SCBA) and fly ash (FA). According to the EN analysis, the corrosion rate (Vcorr) is obtained as an indicator of the degradation of AISI 1018 and galvanized steels, where it is observed that the steels embedded in 15S15F concrete present an average decrease of Vcorr of 19 and 90% respectively, with respect to the steels embedded in REF concrete.
