Summary: | A density-of-states approach is used to describe the influence of external electric and magnetic fields applied perpendicular to the layers of a semiconductor superlattice. Effects of Wannier-Stark localization and interacting Stark ladders are investigated for null magnetic field. Special attention is paid to extremely shallow multiple quantum well structures. Furthermore, it is shown that the density of states in high magnetic and electric fields reveals the interplay between electric and magnetic confinement effects. |
