Three-point bending fracture behaviour of Bi-2223 bulk composed of Ag wire and its critical current after fracture

Summary: | Silver wires were composed to Bi-2223 bulk to improve transport current property and fracture behaviour. The Bi-2223/Ag wire bulk prepared was 5 mm wide, 22 mm long and a few millimetres thick depending on the Ag wire content. The mechanical property was investigated using the three-point bending test, and an interlaminar fracture and a bending fracture were observed. The bonding strength on the interface of the silver and Bi-2223 matrix can affect the fracture mode. The composed samples did not separate into small pieces and the cracked sample showed superconductivity at 77 K. |
