Effect of hydrostatic pressure on ferromagnetic phase transition in (Sm0.7Nd0.3)0.52Sr0.48MnO3 single crystal

Summary:We report on the pressure dependence of the order of ferromagnetic (FM) to paramagnetic (PM) phase transition in (Sm0.7Nd0.3)0.52Sr0.48MnO3 single crystal. At ambient condition, the system exhibits clear evidences of first-order FM-PM phase transition at (Tc ≈ 146 K). The application of pressure (P 12.1 kbar) makes the FM transition second-order in nature with Tc≈ 176K.
