Summary:The case of an older patient admitted with an acute stroke in the presence of atrial fibrillation is presented. Subsequent transthoracic echocardiography and advanced imaging suggested the diagnosis of a large papillary fibroelastoma on the anterior mitral valve leaflet (AML). The patient underwent surgical resection and made an excellent clinical recovery.
