Summary: | Children’s social development, regularly, is related to psychological adjustment and to the development and/or maintenance of behavioral problems (Buhs and Ladd, 2001). In fact, many behavioral professionals agree that all the difficulties a child may have in social-emotional development and the presence of unwanted behavior are an integral part of the diagnostic criteria for a number of disorders found in the Diagnostic and Statitical Manual of Mental Disorders-Four Edition, Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR; American Psychiatric Association, 2000).
