Summary:Starting from the end of the 16th century marriages gave often rise to literary celebrations and miscellaneous poetry collections represented one of the most successful nuptial publications. In this essay we point out some topoi of these works and then we will see how they have been employed in a particularly complex poetry collection set up by Giovan Luigi Valesio in 1622 for the marriage of Niccolò Ludovisi and Isabella Gesualdo. The most renowned poets who lived in Rome around the Twenties participated to this anthology that holds some peculiar aspects, as the chronicle narrative, which enhance this work among the other more ordinary collections.
