Summary:Examination of the original specimens illustrated in E. J. Zeller's 1957 pioneer paper on Mississippian "endothyroids" reveals that the magnifications of all illustrations and one-third of the text dimensions are substantially in error. A table is provided, giving the true dimensions of the original material and multiplication factors for the correction of the published magnifications. The multiplication factors follow a systematic pattern from plate to plate. The changes in dimensions materially alter some of Zeller's species concepts as they are interpreted in the international literature.
