Summary: | Four communities which are thought to be primarily depth-dependent have been recognized in the Frasnian of Western Canada. From onshore to offshore these are: Lingula, Eleutherokomma, Nervostrophia-Theodossia-Devonoproductus, and Atrypa-Schizophoria. The validity of these communities is supported by a section in Iowa where statistical methods (cluster analysis based on both presence-absence and numerical abundance versions of the Jaccard similarity coefficient) were used in describing a transition from an Atrypid-Schizophoria Community to a Theodossia-Nervostrophia-Devonoproductus Community. |
