Description
Summary:Two new specimens of Tselfatia formosa, and a new species, T. dalmatia, provide new data about the geographic range and morphology of the previously monotypic genus Tselfatia. Tselfatia still appears to be a Tethys restricted genus. Since Tselfatia shares none of the derived characters which define more apomorph teleost groups, it should be placed incertae sedis in the group containing the Osteoglossomorpha and other extant teleosts. The lateral keel, a conspicuous feature in the first known specimens of Tselfatia, may not be present throughout the genus.
