Description
Summary:This paper deals with the palynological study of the species of the genus Pithecellobium Mart. that grow in Argentina, P. cauliflorum (Willd.) Mart., P. divaricatum Benth. and P. pithecolobioides (Harms) Hassl., of Secc. Caulanthon; and P. scalare Griseb., P. grisebachianum Harms and P. chacöense Burk., of Secc. Chloroleucon. This study is added as a complement of the systematic tratment (see Darwiniana 23 (2-4): 523-558). It has been possible to construct a key which allows to identify the species by means of its pollen. The number and disposition of the monades in the poliade and the exine sculpture of the distal face of each monade, are the features which make possible a quick identification of the species.
