Summary: | Thirty county records of orchids, representing eight genera, sixteen species, and one variety are reported from twelve South Carolina coastal counties. Included is the first record of Goodyera pubescens, bringing the total number of orchids found indigenous to the Coastal Plain of South Carolina to thirty-eight. Additional information is presented on distribution of orchids on the Coastal Plain based on specimens from the Charleston Museum. Also reported are new records for Corallorhiza wisteriana and C. odontorhiza for Lexington County in the South Carolina Piedmont. |
