Summary: | A pilot-plant trickling filter receiving domestic wastewater was investigated for effects of the addition of various levels of nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA). Results of the study showed that NTA had no apparent effect on the performance of the pilot-plant trickling filter, that NTA was substantially removed by the filter after a period of acclimation, and that NTA had no significant effect on the transport or removal of heavy metals through the filter. |
