Summary:Pi subtypes, M₁ and M₃, have been determined by isoelectrofocusing in the population groups of Germany, Ecuador, Afghanistan, Cameroon, and Saudi-Arabia and compared with the results by other authors. The lowest frequency of M₁ was observed in Saudi-Arabians (0.78), the highest in Cameroon (0.97). Durch Isoelektrofokussierung wurden die Untergruppen des α₁-Antitrypsins PiM₁ und PiM₃ in einer deutschen Bevölkerungsgruppe sowie in Bevölkerungsgruppen aus Ecuador, Afghanistan, Kamerun und Saudi-Arabien bestimmt und mit den Ergebnissen anderer Autoren verglichen. Die niedrigste Frequenz für M₁ wurde in Saudi-Arabien beobachtet (0,78), die höchste in Kamerun (0,97).
