Description
Summary:This paper presents the first systematic recording of a rock art in the island of Mindoro. The site is called Bubog I and is a cave site located on Ilin Island in the south of Mindoro Occidental. Bubog I has produced not only a well-stratified human-derived shell midden associated with artefacts and burial that chronicled the palaeoenvironmental history of landscape between Ilin and Mindoro, but it also has previously unreported rock art. Three rock art figures in the site were recorded and discussed. The age of the rock art at the site is unknown but may have been an important place in the cultural landscape of early inhabitants of Mindoro.
