Summary: | Economic circles can be represented in various ways, for instance by equations, by regularity circles, or by simplicial complexes. Following H. Peter, elementary economic situations and events are described with the aid of algebraic topology. The economy is furnished with a so-called simplicial complex C. Combinations of goods and services are regarded as elements of a vector space X over the real field. With models that show property relations as well as all production and selling relations, one has to distinguish between the statements regarding stocks and those regarding movements. Such statements are the elements of the simplicial chain group S(C, X). Stocks can be shown by means of so-called o-chains. Movements may appear either as o-chains or as 1-chains, o-chains obtain in the case of pure transformation processes in which there is no change of proprietorship; 1-chains obtain in cases of buying or bartering. |
