Summary: | A series of fifteen radiocarbon dates has been obtained from the sites of Damishliyya and Sabi Abyad in the Balikh valley of northern Syria. These dates allow a more precise chronological assignment of later Neolithic cultural developments in the region, in particular of the introduction of the earliest pottery and the appearance of the Halaf culture. |
