Summary:Altogether 8 tomato-shaped sweet pepper varieties, namely Olympia, Greygo, Piknik, Turbán, Pasa, Gogosári, Vitamin, Pritavit were studied. The experiment was performed under outdoor conditions, applying organic method with soil covering (woven PP foil). One-time harvest was done. The total yield, the quality and the ripening grade of the varieties was evaluated. The results confirm that the tomato-shaped pepper varieties could be safely grown under open field conditions. Varieties could be grown under non-conventional (organic) growing circumstances. Large differences were found between the varieties in yielding, quality and the distribution of maturation grading. The best results were obtained for varieties Vitamin, Pritavit and Pasa.
