Description
Summary:Patients with chronic liver disease frequently show hemostatic abnormalities with complex mechanism. Patients with chronic liver disease may be in hemostatic rebalance by concomitant changes in prohemostatic and antihemostatic pathways. Because the rebalanced hemostatic conditions in patients with chronic liver disease can be only detected by sophisticated tests, results from current routine laboratory tests do not well correlated with clinical findings in patients with chronic liver disease. More studies are required for proper management of hemostatic abnormalities in patients with chronic liver disease.
