Summary: | Poly(aniline) (PANI) blended with a dopamine-conjugated poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) binder, forming PANI-dopamine-PAA, was developed to effectively control the uniformity of a silicon anode. The PANI provided electrical conductivity to this system and formed physical cross links with PAA through acid-base interactions. PAA was functionalized with dopamine, a material known to adhere to the surface of Si. The mechanical and electrical properties of a PANI-dopamine-PAA-based Si electrode displayed stable cycling performance, even after 300 cycles. |
