Summary:The book presented here is a detailed account of the history of Russian Orthodox mission work in eastern Siberia. It addresses the missions that took place in each time period, in each particular region of missionary activity, and among the different groups of indigenous Siberian peoples. The book offers details about the beliefs and ways of life of the native groups of Siberia, notably the Buriats and the Tungusic peoples. It also includes photographs of important missionaries and of the people served in the missions. The book is preserved in the collections of the National Library of Russia in Saint Petersburg.
