Summary: | A three-member board mediates disputes and disagreements submitted for review by the people involved. Complainants and respondents are interviewed by A.L. Alexander and the mediators. In this episode, the board considers two cases. In the first case, a husband and wife, once well-to-do, have suffered financial reverses. The wife wishes her husband to accept their new circumstances. She asks that he forget the exclusive clubs to which he once belonged, the people who did not raise a hand to help him, and to get any job that will support them. Her husband does not want to take just any job. He wants work on the several deals he has pending, and to wait for his "big break". He feels that he will never be successful if he settles for less. In the second case, an elderly husband is upset because his 74-year-old wife wants to move out and find a job caring for an elderly person. She complains that he spends a lot of time at his lodge, which doesn't interest her, and sends money to his sister, which she objects to. She also wants to make money of her own. |
