Summary:A three-member board mediates disputes and disagreements submitted for review by the people involved. Complainants and respondents are interviewed by A.L. Alexander and the mediators. In this episode, the board considers two cases. In the first case a man and a woman are contemplating marriage, but he wants her to live with him in a "trial marriage" before they become engaged. She feels his request is unreasonable. She loves him and wants to marry him, but believes they have problems about which they should consult a therapist. He disagrees. He wants to resolve their problems without consulting a third party. They both agree that the main problem is her insecurity about his profession. He is a dancer, and is surrounded by beautiful women. When they socialize with his colleagues, she feels inadequate and isolated. He says he loves her, is not interested in other women and dismisseds her concerns. In the second case, a woman wonders if she should marry a man who is obsessed with gambling on horse racing. He wonders if he should marry a woman who is obsessed with show business.
