Description
Summary:Content Partner: Alexander Turnbull Library. There are four frames which tell a story. In the first frame, Leader of the National Party, Don Brash is seen locking recalcitrant sinners into jail. Behind him is a crowd of potential sinners which includes, Prime Minister, Helen Clark, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Winston Peters, Leader of ACT, Rodney Hide and Deputy National Leader, Gerry Brownlee. In the second frame the key is thrown away, and in the third frame it is seen landing in the sea. Also in the third frame the Beehive is shown seething with the seven deadly sins while outside the high fence around the Beehive is a huge crowd of people some of whom are reaching through the fence to try to grasp the desirable things within while a voice (probably Don Brash's) shouts at them to 'Repent, you bastards'. The fourth frame which shows a later scene, shows Gollum, the 'Lord of the Rings' character whose one desire was to possess the Ring which had enslaved him. He is shown in the sea trying to retrieve the ring that Don Brash threw away. Probably refers to the Law and Order speech that Don Brash made 4th July, 2004 to the Sensible Sentencing trust.
