Electron spin resonance study of the structure of some σ disulfur radical cations

The radical cations generated by exposure to 60 Co γ rays, at 77 K. of dilute solutions of 1,4-dithiane, 1,5-dithiacyclooctane, and thiirane in freon matrices, have been investigated by ESR spectroscopy. The relation between the g iso value and the SS σ bond length is studied quantitatively.
