Description
Summary:[Display omitted] Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) possess unique properties that render them promising candidates for various high-tech applications. However, their inherent nonconducting nature poses a challenge to their practical implementation in numerous fields. In this article, we introduce the Metal-Organic Framework and Activated Carbon (MOF@AC) composite, which emerges as a compelling material due to its substantial surface area, diverse pore size distributions, and distinctive features. This review aims to highlight the synthesis strategies, fundamental characteristics, and unique properties of MOF@AC composites. Primarily, this comprehensive review focuses on exploring the manifold applications of the composite material, spanning from supercapacitors to energy storage and conversion, gas storage, photocatalysis, and wastewater treatment. By emphasizing the existing knowledge surrounding MOF@AC composites, the article aims to identify potential avenues for future research and development. The synergistic combination of these materials positions them as excellent candidates for a number of new applications, opening gates for researchers in dynamic fields.
