Summary: | The study aims to identify the critical success factors for successfully implementing knowledge management (KM) in schools by evaluating the effectiveness of the initial training activities of a Quality Education Fund (QEF) project that supports the application of knowledge management in schools for sustainable development. Cross sectional surveys were conducted to collect teachers' views on whether KM can enhance strategic planning capacity and school performance. Teachers from 10 primary schools and 10 secondary schools who participated in the QEF KM project were surveyed. Factor analysis and multiple regressions test were applied to identify the critical success factors (CSF) for implementing KM in school education and the predictors for school strategic planning capacity. Results show that teachers tended to agree that applying KM in schools can improve school strategic planning capacity, management, their teaching competencies, student support, and assessment for learning. Knowledge management vision, sharing culture and IT support were identified as predictive factors for strategic planning capacity. |
