Description
Summary:Danish regional innovation system is influenced by the industrial policy during the 1990s & the early 2000 in the concept of clusters. Cluster studies have become in recent years the cornerstone of the business & industry policy making in Denmark. Particularly the clusters based on supply & demand linkages are used in the business & industry policy making in the form of resource areas. The starting point of Danish innovation system is focused on low-tech learning in order to avoid the disruptions of rapidly changing technology or of sudden demand shifts. By contrary, South Korean regional innovation system has been the national government-led policy since the 1980s. Until the 1990s, the regional innovation system can be characterized as a hardware-oriented R & D infrastructure building period that focused on creating industrial linkages between industry, university & government. In the 2000s regional governments take their initiatives to create their own regional innovation systems which are based on their localities as well as on the technological capabilities.
