Description
Summary:•The studied membrane in this paper is obtained by polymerization in a magnetic field of a mixture that contains silicone rubber, Rochelle salt particles, carbonyl iron microparticles and catalyst.•It is shown that the electrical resistance, the elasticity constants, the deformations, tensions and their variations with the effective intensity of the alternate electric field are sensibly influenced by the static magnetic field intensity.•We conclude that the obtained material is important for scientific and applied research. A mixture consisting of silicone rubber, carbonyl iron, Rochelle salt powder and catalyst is pressed between two plane electrodes until it reaches a thickness of 0.62mm. The polymerization of the mixture is performed in a transverse magnetic field, and a membrane based on an anisotropic magnetorheological elastomer is obtained. We study the influence of the effective intensity of an alternating electric field superimposed in the direction of static magnetic field intensity, on the relative electrical resistance, deformation and tension fields, and respectively on the elastic constant of the membrane. We present and discuss the obtained results.
