Description
Summary:The two-plasmon decay (TPD) instability has been studied in the region near the quarter-critical density in the plasmas of the laser-driven inertial confinement fusion for a wide range of laser angles of incidence. The TPD equations for the oblique laser incidence in the inhomogeneous plasmas have been analyzed theoretically. The range of wave vectors for the instability growth has been identified. The theoretical growth rates and thresholds have been compared with the results of the fluid-type simulations, and a good agreement has been found.
