Description
Summary:Measurements of the femtosecond dynamics of the electronic excitations of BSCCO-2212 were performed by ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy of flux-grown single crystals and thin films grown by radiofrequency magnetron sputtering on LaAlO sub(3) substrates. The results show that the dynamics is quite different from that measured in YBCO-123, and the normal, pseudogap and superconducting states have a distinctly different behavior. The observed dynamical behavior is largely sample independent. The main difference is that single crystals showed larger heating on illumination due to the much lower thermal conductivity of BSCCO compared with LaAlO sub(3).
