Summary:The mean grain size along and across the tension axis for the duralumin-type alloy Al-4Cu-2.2Mg-0.6Mn-0.1Ti with initial recrystallized ultra-fine grain structure at superplastic deformation (SPD) in the II strain rate range at 490 deg C increases greatly with strain increase up to 100-150%, then changes comparatively weakly or even passes the maximum at the mentioned strains. The development of dynamic recrystallization at SPD of the studied alloy consisting of the fragmentation of the grains into the smaller ones has been established in the region of strains corresponding to the maximum of index m.
