Experimental Observation of Atomic Hydrogen Stabilized in Thin Films of Molecular H2 at Temperatures 100 mK
We report on experimental observation of hydrogen atoms embedded in 50 nm thick films of solid H2. A 50 ppm mixture of H in H2 is deposited on surfaces of the sample cell as a result of recombination of a polarized atomic hydrogen gas H. We did not see any noticeable recombination loss of the H atom...

Summary: | We report on experimental observation of hydrogen atoms embedded in 50 nm thick films of solid H2. A 50 ppm mixture of H in H2 is deposited on surfaces of the sample cell as a result of recombination of a polarized atomic hydrogen gas H. We did not see any noticeable recombination loss of the H atoms in the H2 film during 4 days of observation at temperatures 100 mK. |
