Summary: | A new approach for LHCD problem in spherical tokamaks (ST) is investigated, when the LH waves are slowed down in,poloidal rather than toroidal direction by a grill antenna oriented vertically. Characteristics of wave propagation are found by ray tracing technique modernized for the case of strongly inhomogeneous plasma in ST. RF field distribution in ST plasma was simulated by 2D full-wave code. The grill operation is analyzed in these conditions using 3D antenna code. |
