Summary:The behavior of the total proton-proton cross section with the center of mass energy {radical}(s) is studied with a modified version of the Heisenberg model. We include the energy dependence of the inelasticity. We also discuss the role played by matter distribution and compare the original exponential tail with a gaussian profile. The results are compared with the limiting Froissart curve.
