Exchange interaction and rashba spin splitting effects in electron spin resonance in narrow-gap quantum wells
We report a study of electron spin resonance (ESR) in a perpendicular magnetic field in n-type narrow-gap quantum well (QW) heterostructures. Summary: | We report a study of electron spin resonance (ESR) in a perpendicular magnetic field in n-type narrow-gap quantum well (QW) heterostructures. Using the Hartree-Fock approximation, based on the 8×8 k⋅p Hamiltonian, the many-body corrections to the ESR energy are found to be nonzero in symmetric and asymmetric narrow-gap QWs. We demonstrate a significant enhancement of the ESR energy in asymmetric QWs, induced by the Rashba spin splitting and exchange interaction, as well as the exchange-induced enhancement of the ESR energy in symmetric QWs. The ESR energies estimated for 2DEG in InAs/AlSb QWs are compared with experimental results in weak magnetic fields. |
