Description
Summary:The present work demonstrates the successful synthesis of hexagonal molybdenum oxide (h-MoO{sub 3}) nanocrystals by chemical precipitation method using two different reactant solvent medium such as water and ethanol. The influence of reactant solvent medium on structural, morphological and electrical properties is studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirms the crystal phase of the materials and exhibits single phase h-MoO{sub 3}. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images show that the particles are one dimensional hexagonal rods with different particle size distributions, influenced by the reactant solvent medium. The impedance results show grain and grain boundary conduction in h-MoO{sub 3}. The resultant grain and grain boundary resistance and capacitance values are measured by equivalent circuit model and the results are discussed.
