Predicting the Cavitational Wear Resistance of Electrolytic Chromium Coatings

Test results are presented for the cavitational wear resistance of electrolytic chromium coatings and alloys used in the manufacture of cylinder blocks and bushing for diesel engines. A method is proposed for predicting the wear resistance by measuring the worn surface profile.
