Summary: | The spin susceptibility of pure crystals of natural graphite has been measured by comparing the integrated intensity of the electron spin resonance signal to the intensity of the nuclear magnetic resonance of a known amount of aluminum powder mixed with the graphite sample. Both resonances were observed by using a crossed-coil nuclear induction probe at 12.8 Mc/sec. At 300°K, the spin susceptibility is found to be (1.44±0.3) × 10—8 cgs units per gram in agreement with known microwave measurements and theory. The apparent g value of low-field resonances observed with the crossed-coil probe is briefly discussed. |
