Thorium and Uranium Contents of Australites
The Th and U contents of six australites (two from Victoria, two from South Australia, and two from western Australia) were measured with the thick- source'' alpha counting and thorium-A pairs methods. The contents were found to fall in the ranges of 8.1 to 11.6 and 1.4 to 2.4 ppm for Th a...

Summary: | The Th and U contents of six australites (two from Victoria, two from South Australia, and two from western Australia) were measured with the thick- source'' alpha counting and thorium-A pairs methods. The contents were found to fall in the ranges of 8.1 to 11.6 and 1.4 to 2.4 ppm for Th and U, respectively. A positive correlation between the count rate and the K content was found. The implications of the small spread in the Th and U contents over the six tektites are discussed. |
