Description
Summary:This paper describes the evolution of the data acquisition process at JET since June 1983. The evolution of Software, Hardware and volume of data is reviewed. The analysis of the performance of a multicomputer data acquisition system has required modelling of the various components. The effects of data compression have recently been analyzed and included in the model. Guidelines for future projects are derived.
